Kelly and Randy picked us up yesterday for a whirlwind tour of the California Central Coast. We drove down to San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. The weather was unbeatable, upper 80’s along the beach at the end of October and by 4:00 p.m. we walked the beach in the low 70’s! Wow!
This is Morro Rock jutting out from the beach at Morro Bay. We walked about 1 1/2 miles from where we parked to get this shot.
To end the day we had dinner at a local eatery, Tognazzini’s Dockside Restaurant. They had live music and the food was great. Watching the sunset wasn’t bad either, as the sky turned various shades of pink and orange when the sun began to drop behind Morro Rock.
We appreciate the time Kelly and Randy took out of their busy schedule to give us a tour of such a fantastic gem along the Central California Coast, from the walk along the beach to ending the day at a local seafood restaurant.
Today I will spend some time getting ready for the next leg of our trip to Fresno in the morning to meet up with a busnut and share a Pepsi. I just want to make sure all of the fluids are topped off and everything mechanical is ready to go. Then we will all get-together this afternoon up at Kelly and Randy’s house for more bus talk and fellowship! What started out as a one night stay turned into three. Tomorrow we will head to the Sacramento area to overnight. We plan to drive from there up to Weed, CA for an overnight stay; then up to Bend, OR to visit my brother, Dan, and his wife, Charlene, for a few days.
Dreamscape parked at Motive Systems, Randy’s metal fabrication business.
They also drove us by several local RV Parks. Just in case we want to Workamp in the area. The link provided is an excellent resource for those that want to take a journey work-camping across the USA. We hope to be able to do that later next year.
